Sheet vinyl earns its place wherever a floor has to be cleaned properly and cannot let water through: kitchens, utilities, bathrooms, and the commercial equivalents of all three.
Fitted properly it is a seamless surface. Sheets are hot-welded at the joints with a matching rod so there is no gap for water or dirt to sit in, and the vinyl is coved up the wall at the edges and finished with a capping strip instead of stopping at a skirting. That detail is what makes a floor genuinely wipe-clean.
Safety flooring is the same material with grit through it for slip resistance, and it is what you want in a commercial kitchen, a washroom or anywhere that gets wet and gets walked on.
